Grand Jury Indicts Morris

The Coos County Grand Jury returned an indictment charging former Bandon resident Gabriel Christian Morris with two counts of aggravated murder Wednesday in the deaths of Robert Kennelly and Robin Anstey.
The grand jury heard testimony from thirteen witnesses, two of which appeared by video conference from the Commonwealth of Virginia. The witnesses included various investigating officers and citizens with knowledge of the case, including Fred and Laura
Eschler, according to a press release from Coos County District Attorney Paul Frasier.
Mr. Morris remains in Virginia where he is being held without bond pending resolution of Coos County’s request to extradite him to the State of Oregon to stand trial on these charges.
The Grand Jury also returned an indictment charging Jessica Marie Morris with Hindering Prosecution. She remains in the custody of the Coos County Jail. Her next court appearance is scheduled for today at 8:30 a.m. in Judge Richard Barron’s courtroom.
